Regenerate rather than replace.
In Nyon, ITU Clinic combines cutting-edge physical therapy and regenerative medicine to treat the root cause, stimulate tissue regeneration, and restore function. A structured, minimally invasive approach focused on a return to peak performance and functional longevity.
Our care is based on a proprietary method developed by Jon Iturralde and delivered by a certified team under medical supervision. Two complementary frameworks form the backbone of this approach.
The Regeneration Framework
The framework that links assessment, tissue activation, and rehabilitation. A coherent, step-by-step process—from the initial evaluation to a return to activity—designed for precision and reproducibility.
The Orthobiological Protocol
High-intensity laser-induced regenerative activation (Laser Induced Regenerative Activation), combined with orthobiology—ultrasound-guided PRP injections (REMEDEX® technology), performed under medical supervision.
Evaluation
Clinical evaluation and ultrasound-guided imaging to locate the lesion and develop a precise treatment plan.
Activation
Regenerative tissue stimulation using high-intensity lasers.
Orthobiology
Ultrasound-guided PRP injection performed by Dr. Donalisio (REMEDEX® technology).
Renovation
Rehabilitation and follow-up program to consolidate and sustain the results.
Each case is evaluated individually. Medical procedures—injections and orthobiology—are performed under the supervision of Dr. Massimo Donalisio, an FMH-certified specialist.
Dr. Massimo Donalisio
FMH-certified specialist. Responsible for medical procedures and the medical component of the LIRA-Ortho® protocol.
Jon Iturralde
Sports physiotherapist and pioneer of invasive physiotherapy in Switzerland. Designer of the CIRA® and LIRA-Ortho® frames.
Who is LIRA-Ortho® intended for?
Chronic tendinopathies, soft-tissue injuries, persistent joint pain, early-stage osteoarthritis, and sports-related overuse injuries. Each condition is evaluated individually during the assessment.
Who performs the treatment?
Assessment and rehabilitation are provided by the ITU Clinic physical therapy team. Medical procedures—PRP injections—are performed by Dr. Massimo Donalisio, an FMH-certified specialist and Medical Director.
Does it hurt?
This is a minimally invasive procedure performed under ultrasound guidance to ensure precise placement. Patients generally tolerate it well; comfort measures are explained before the procedure.
When do we see the results?
Many patients report an improvement in their symptoms as early as the first session. Recovery then continues gradually; following the protocol in a structured manner allows us to objectively assess progress over the course of several weeks and adjust the rehabilitation plan accordingly. Results vary depending on the indication and each individual case.
Are there any contraindications?
Contraindications are evaluated with the doctor during the initial evaluation, before any treatment begins. Certain conditions—particularly autoimmune diseases—may respond less favorably to treatment and are discussed on a case-by-case basis to determine whether the treatment protocol is appropriate.
Is this covered by insurance?
The medical procedure, performed by Dr. Massimo Donalisio (FMH-certified physician), is covered by basic health insurance (LAMal). The regenerative component of the protocol is considered a private service; a detailed estimate is provided before any treatment begins.
Prices are for reference only. The treatment plan is based on a personalized quote provided after the initial evaluation, depending on the specific condition and the number of sessions. Medical procedures are performed under the supervision of Dr. Massimo Donalisio, an FMH-certified specialist.
